About this archipelago guide

GothenburgArchipelago.se is an independent guide to the Gothenburg archipelago on Sweden's west coast: how the ferries from Saltholmen work, which islands suit which kind of day, where to swim, how the northern islands differ from the southern ones, and what each boat tour really includes. We are not a tour operator, a ferry company, Västtrafik or GetYourGuide. We compare what is on offer so you can decide whether you need a tour at all, and if so, which one suits you.

Facts on this site are checked against official and reliable sources (Västtrafik and Styrsöbolaget for the ferries, Trafikverket for the road ferries, the City of Gothenburg's tourist board, the County Administrative Board for the nature reserves, SMHI and the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management for weather and bathing water) and against the live GetYourGuide listings, including recent guest reviews. Timetables change with the seasons; when an official source and this site disagree, trust the official source.
